HELICOPTER NH90 “THE WOLF”
Helicopters are becoming more
and more important in the military aviation industry due to different reasons,
such as their fast deployment or their ability to carry out air-to-ground
missions of all kinds. For these reasons, armies, including the Spanish Air
Force, try to renew their helicopters with new ones such as the NH90.
With a rotor blade length of
16 meters and a fuselage based on aluminium, it reaches a maximum flight height
of 8000 meters. It has a double control cockpit, because although it can be
controled by only one pilot, it needs two to be fully operational.
The NH90 is truly designed to
operate in adverse weather conditions, both day and night, allowing it to be
effective in conflict or war zones. The best thing is its load capacity, which
allows transporting up to 3 tones of cargo and up to 20 soldiers fully equipped
to combat.
To sum up, this modern
helicopter is actually one of the best of the world. The hability to take part
on every type of missions, from a low level flight through the beach to a
rescue on the dessert makes it the dream of every pilot.

C-130 Hercules
The C-130 Hercules is a military airplane mainly used for transport, with four turboprop engines. It is large with a strong fuselage with two wings attached. It also has a characteristic nose where the cabin is located.
Spain has some C-130 Hercules used for transport. It can transport vehicles, military personnel, paratroopers, etc. Another use for this plane is the air refueling. This plane can refuel another planes and helicopters by dropping a basket from the wing through which the fuel is passed.
Nowadays the C-130 Hercules is being replaced by other types of aircraft as the A-400M, because the C-130 Hercules has been in use since the middle of the last century. The A-400M is bigger and with better characteristics than the C-130 Hercules. For example, the A-400M has a bigger and stronger landing gear than the C-130 Hercules with more wheels. It also has a very big tail compared with the C-130 Hercules as well as the engines that can be turbine engines or turboprop.
In conclusion the C-130 Hercules is an excellent plane used for many tasks, but it is being replaced by new types of plane with better characteristics.

Boeing AH-64 Apache
The Apache helicopter, whose technical name is
Boeing AH-64 Apache, is an attack helicopter of American origin, capable of
carrying out all kinds of attack missions, both day and night. It is the main
attack helicopter of the US Army, as well as other nations such as the United
Kingdom, Israel, etc.
To carry out its missions, it has a team of
sensors in the nose to designate objects during the night, an automatic cannon
under the fuselage, as well as missiles placed at the height of the motor mount,
in the initial part of the tail boom.
On the other hand, it has a two-seat cockpit,
and a highly sophisticated blade rotor and tail rotor with 4 blades that allow
it to perform almost impossible manoeuvres. It has no skid, but has a landing
gear, so I like to call it the plane with propellers. Its maximum speed is
about 350 km/h, something very high for a helicopter.
This helicopter is my favourite because of its versatility and its appearance, besides the great importance it has had in many wars. I would love to be able to pilot it in the future.

"AS332 Super Puma" and other types of aircraft and
whirlybirds are writing their name in the history of flight, due to the
incredible feats that allow us to carry out. Since 1978, when it made its first
take-off, it has not stopped giving us joy, leading it to achieve missions as
precise as extinguishing fires.
However, at first glance, it could seem a bit
straightforward but not only provides efficiency due to its construction, but
also it is used to put out forest fires.
Firstly, they are often composed of several components,
which can be divided into different sections, depending on that are their
function. They can be distinguished some of them as:
Direction; where swashplate, synchronized elevators and
stabilizer bar take part. Moreover, protection components as; cowling, skid,
tale skid, motor mount, which emphasizes on safety. Nevertheless, there are
more as the engine, rotor blades...
We can draw the conclusion that AS332 Super Puma could be
called multipurpose, due to the variety of tasks to which it can be entrusted,
but it is not because of anything other than the comfort of not having to
prepare a landing strip, which makes it an effective weapon of the Spanish
army.

C-130 HERCULES
The C-130 Hercules is a plane that was created in the 80s by the Americans. This aeroplane is a Turboprop military aircraft designed by Boeing.
Focusing on its appearance, at first sight is really impactful because of its huge size.With their giant wings, the C-130 Hercules is capable of lifting all the weight that it has to support. On the wings we can differentiate the ailerons, that control the roll of the plane, and the flaps, which increase the lift of the aeroplane. In the tail of the C-130 Hercules we find the horizontal stabilizer (which controls pitch), and the vertical stabilizer with the rudder (that controls yaw). In the cockpit of this plane fit four people (two pilots, a mechanic and the communications men). The landing gear is one of the most important parts of this plane, because of its characteristics, this plane is able to take off and land almost everywhere.
The Hercules, or also the C-130, is an aircraft used by the
Spanish Air Force since the 1950s.
This airplane is used to transport materials and troops, in national and international missions.
This plane has the same parts than others, for example, the
pilot and the copilot go into the cockpit. In the tail, the Hercules has a big
door, and this door can be opened during the travel, to allow troops to
parachute.
The C-130 is propelled by propeller engines, specifically it
has four turboprops. The propeller engines reach less speed than the turbine
engines, but the Hercules doesn’t need very high speed.
On its wings, it can carry up to twenty tons of fuel. This
ability gives the Hercules the capacity to fly during a lot of hours.
Like other aircraft, the Hercules also has ailerons, flaps,
stabilizers and elevators that allow it to maneuver in the air.
The landing gear of the Hercules is very robust because it
needs to support all the weight of this huge aircraft.
In conclusion, the C-130 is a cargo aircraft, capable of
traveling long distances and carrying very heavy objects. In my opinion, it is
a masterpiece of engineering.
Nowadays airplanes have become the most common way of transport in the world, both for people and for commodity. The army also uses this way of transport for its immediate deployment anywhere in the world. For this mission the best plane is the C-130 Hercules.
Firstly, the C-130 Hercules is a medium-heavy tactical transport aircraft powered by four turboprop engines, manufactured in the United States, used also in different countries as Spain. It has a strong fuselage with a big capacity and also a spacious cockpit above the nose, where more tan three people can travel.
Besides, it´s a two-fixed wing aircraft, where is stored the fuel, two flaps with two different positions, landing and take off. It also has a strong landing gear. In the rear part of the plane we can appreciate the rudder, horizontal and vertical stabilizers, with the elevator.
Taking all of this into account, C-130 Hercules is one of the best transport aircraft, with some amazing capacities such as the autonomy of 3.800 kilometres, being able to transport troops and logistics to the different military bases around the world.
A C-130 Hercules is a military transport aircraft, which is
used by the most prepared armies, for instance the US Air Force, the English
Royal Air Force, the Spanish Royal Air Force…
To begin with, it is such a famous plane because it´s
amazing flight capacity, since it has four turboprops engines that allows it to
fly with more than ten tons of weight, making it the perfect plane for carrying
troops and even some small vehicles or helicopters.
Furthermore, the C-130 Hercules can also be used as a tanker
plane for refueling some fighter jets. Despite being a heavy aircraft it reaches
600 kilometers per hour due to it´s powerful engines and it´s modern aerodynamical
fuselage. Another mission attach to the C-130 is the search of submarines, this
mission is less common, but in some countries it is used like their main
antisubmarine weapon.
To sum up, the C-130 is an astonishing polyvalent airplane. A few years ago some armies thought that it´s operational life would become to an end soon. Nevertheless another armies have remodeled and updated the aircraft, so I am sure it will continue on service for many years.

I am going to talk about a helicopter. There are many types of helicopters, but my favourite one is Superpuma which is officially called AQ-552.
Firstly, this helicopter is used by air force army in order to transport soldiers at missions and special unit SAR to transport water to put out fire or rescue and save people who are lost in mountains and forest.
Secondly , this helicopter has small cockpit where pilot makes the decisions and he control synchronized stabilizer, swashplate , which is protected by cowling and rotor blade. The main body of an helicopter is tail boom. At the end of tail boom we can found tail rotor, which allows to change directions. Next to tail boom it is located motor mount, which holds and protect motor engine. Another interesting thing it is that helicopters do not have landing gear , they have skid that allows to landing in anywhere.
To sump up, Superpuma is a modern helicopter which can travel long distances and it is very useful. However, it can not reach high speeds and has a small capacity (three people).
I consider that the NH90 is the helicopter that deserves the relevant description, because is the newest one that has been incorporated into the Spanish Airforce.
This modern helicopter made by the Spanish Company, Airbus, is considered one of the most multifaceted ones in the world. An effective, modern, innovative helicopter capable to confront all situations, either by a big gale or a strong storm. Its consistent rotor blade reinforced by the stabilizer bar secure its stability.
However is not everything, the Spanish Company has reached something never achieved before, a mechanism that combined, the most important parts of the helicopter that enables it to land wherever the situation forces to do it, either in high mountains, in the middle of the jungle, or the desert. These parts are: the swashplate, that let the helicopter maneuver a few meters from the ground, and the skid, able to stand on any surface.
To draw the conclusion, one can say that the NH90 helicopter has been one of the best purchases of all times Spanish airforce talking about the great efficiency of combat helicopters.

The C-130 Hercules is one of the oldest aircraft that we can find in Spain, however, nowadays, this airplane is one of the most important cargo airplane due to the many missions it performs.
The c-130 was built in the USA in 1975, and arrived in Spain in 1999. This aircraft is manufactured of very resistant materials such as steel, the fuselage is the most important
part of this aircraft. In the nose we can find the cockpit, where the pilot controls the movement of the plane through mechanisms such as the wings, the horizontal stabilizer or the ailerons.
One of its latest innovations was the landing gear, which allows a more stable landing and
take off. Furthermore, in 2015 they added four powerful turboprops
Finally, we have to add that there are very few c-130 aircraft in the air force and they are subjected to
constant technical reviews by experienced staff, normally these reviews are carried out in different
area bases, such as Ala 37 or Ala 14
This airplane is also used in numerous training exercises, such as rescue, parachuting or observation. the c-130 has capacity for up to 80 people
